We are all saddened by the news of the death of Her Late Majesty which arrived at the Church during Solemn Evensong during which we suspect we may have been the first liturgy to sing the preces, ‘O God save the King.’
On Sunday 11th September, a Requiem Mass was held at 10.30am for the repose of Her Late Majesty’s soul. We, as Catholics, must never forget our duty to pray for the souls of the departed, but we must too remember our duty to pray for our present rulers. Therefore, we also prayed as a community for the right rule of our new Sovereign, King Charles III.
May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
God save the King!
