Pope Leo has proclaimed St John Henry Newman, our Patron, a Doctor of the Church. He joins a select group: there are only 37 Doctors of the Church, a title given to those who have not only been outstanding for personal holiness, but whose writings have exercised a profound influence on our understanding of Christian doctrine over the centuries.

We will mark the Feast of St John Henry Newman, and in celebration of his being named a Doctor of the Church, with a Solemn Pontifical Mass.
