Easter VII
A Solemn Mass will be sung for the Seventh Sunday of Easter on Sunday 17 May at 10:30am.
In the days between the Ascension and Pentecost, the Church waits prayerfully with the Apostles for the promised gift of the Holy Ghost. The liturgy for Exaudi Sunday reflects this expectant hope, as the faithful are encouraged to place their trust in the risen and ascended Christ, who does not leave His people comfortless, but prepares them for the coming of the Comforter.
All the faithful are warmly invited to assist at this Solemn Mass, said according to Divine Worship: The Missal (Ordinariate Use).
Music list:
Introit: Peter Philips – Ascendit Deus in jubilatione
Setting: Zoltán Kodály – Missa Brevis (K, G & Ag)
Psalm: 47
Creed: Merbecke
Anthem: Edward Elgar – Give unto the Lord
Hymns:
Come, ye faithful, raise the anthem (NEH, 351)
All hail the power of Jesu’s Name! (NEH, 332)
Now that the daylight fills the sky (NEH, 151)
O GOD, the King of glory, who hast exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven: we beseech thee, leave us not comfortless; but send to us thy Holy Spirit to comfort us, and exalt us unto the same place whither our Saviour Christ is gone before; who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
