The Epiphany of the Lord
A Solemn Mass will be sung for The Epiphany of the Lord on Tuesday 6 December at 6:30pm.
In this great feast of the Manifestation, the Church rejoices in the revelation of Christ to the nations, as the Light of the world is made known to the Gentiles.
During the sacred liturgy we contemplate the mystery of the Incarnation now revealed in glory, and we honour Him who is worshipped by the wise men, offered gold, frankincense, and myrrh, and acknowledged as Lord of heaven and earth.
The Solemnity of the Epiphany is a Holy Day of Obligation, and the faithful are reminded of their duty to assist at Mass on this Solemnity.
There will also be a said lunchtime Mass at 12:45pm.
Music list:
Introit: Arnold Cooke O men from the fields
Setting: Plainsong Missa de Angelis

As with gladness men of old (NEH, 47)

O GOD, who by the leading of a star didst manifest thy Only Begotten Son to the Gentiles: mercifully grant that we, who know thee now by faith, may be led onward through this earthly life, until we see the vision of thy heavenly glory; through the same Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, ever one God, world without end. Amen.
