SUMMARY:Solemn Mass: Trinity II and Portugal Day
DESCRIPTION:A Solemn Mass will be sung on Sunday 14 June at 10:30am\, the Second Sunday after Trinity\, in celebration of Portugal Day\, the national day of Portugal. \nThe observance has a particular resonance at Warwick Street\, whose origins lie in the chapel of the Portuguese Embassy established here in 1724\, at a time when Catholic worship in England was severely restricted. Under the protection of the embassy the chapel became an important place of prayer for London’s Catholics\, and from these beginnings the present church of Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory developed. \nOn this day we give thanks for the Portuguese community whose faith and patronage formed part of the early history of Warwick Street\, and we commend the people and nation of Portugal to the prayers of the Blessed Virgin Mary. \nWe look forward to welcoming H.E. SUMMARY:The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi)
DESCRIPTION:A Solemn Mass will be sung for the Feast of Corpus Christi on Sunday 7 June at 10:30am. \nOn this feast the Church honours with particular devotion the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ\, given for the life of the world in the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar. The faithful are invited to adore the abiding presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist\, the sacrament of unity\, charity\, and redemption. \nAll the faithful are warmly invited to assist at this Solemn Mass\, said according to Divine Worship: The Missal (Ordinariate Use). \nLater in the afternoon\, the Annual Corpus Christi Procession will depart from Warwick Street\, at 3.30pm\, processing through the streets of central London towards Spanish Place via the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral.
